Information about Media on Demand WebClient

The multilingualism (incl. a translation tool) and the possibility to provide subtitles of the media on demand application were developed within the eStream project. A series of Working demonstrators provide didactical information, learning aims, background information, additional materials, links, the speakers text, etc. - suitable to each educational medium.
The media on demand service is multilingual and can be adapted for any language.

The didactic materials and the speaker´s text (transcript) can be administrated and edited online. The speaker´s text is automatically generated via „speech to text recognition“ (It is necessary to edit the text and go through it twice in order to provide an error-free transcript)
The speaker´s text is multilingual and if the whole speaker´s text is available it is possible to translate it into any required language (online)without any difficulties.

The same text appears as transcript (subtitles) below the videoplayer and on the right side as speaker´s text. It is possible to change the language of the video (audio) which appears below the videoplayer. At the index card “info” it is possible to change the language of all additional materials (background, didactics, videoclips,…).

Information about the translation tool

The translation tool was developed in order to allow users to translate videos in any languages required. By clicking on the link "translation tool" above it is possible to translate:

• All text informations (didactics, info, background)
• Transcript/subtitle
• Videoclips (title and subtitle - if there are any)

If you would like to translate a video, please contact us (wec@eduhi.at). You will then receive a code and further information in order to have access to our translation tool.

System Requirements

• New and actual MS Windows Multimedia PC, Sound card 16bit / Graphic card with min. 32 MB
• For each Client you need at min. 500 Kb internet connection
  That means: For each ADSL Internet connection (768/128) there is only 1 user possible.
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer; we suggest Version 6
  Screen resolution: minimum 1024 x 768
• Windows Media Player 9
